PlatIndex summarizes how the City of Houston's Chapter 42 platting ordinance applies to a property, using public records and City / Harris County GIS data. Our reports are informational. They are not legal advice, engineering or surveying services, a title opinion, or an official determination by the City of Houston. Deed restrictions and final plat class can only be confirmed by a title report and the City. Always verify with the appropriate professional and with the City before you file, build, or spend money.
We work to be accurate and would rather give no answer than a wrong one. GIS-sourced values such as frontage and corner status are estimated from parcel geometry and may differ from a survey. You are responsible for confirming any figure before relying on it.
